Levelized billing

Many of us know exactly how much money to budget each month for car payments, mortgage payments and even insurance payments. The financial challenge many members face each month is not knowing how much to budget for their electric bills, especially when the weather fluctuates so often in Texas.

For CCECA members there is an easy solution: levelized billing.  Members can take the guesswork out of how much to budget for their electric bill each month by signing up for this simple and easy billing plan. The Levelized billing is designed to keep your electric bill affordable every month of the year.

How it works

The current number of kWh used is averaged in with the last twelve (12) months. The bill is then figured according to our base rate and current PCRF (Power Cost Recovery Factor) on that average number of kWh. The amount will change every month according to the current usage. It's that simple.

The levelized billing plan is available for residential members of CCECA who have a zero balance.

If a levelized billing plan sounds like a option that would benefit you and your budgeting needs, or if you have any questions please contact our Member Service Department at 903-683-2248 ext. 4700 or email carolinec@cceca.net or linettea@cceca.net.

Critical Care - Medical priority registry

If someone in your home depends on an electrically operated health aid, take these steps to prepare for possible power outages:

  • Plug electronic devices into surge protectors and consider using uninterruptible power supplies on important devices.
  • Consider investing in a portable generator to power vital equipment in the event of an extended blackout. Consult with a qualified electrician before installing the device.
  • Keep an adequate supply of prescription drugs and medical equipment on hand in case a storm prevents you from getting refills.
  • Keep a corded land line operating in your home, as cordless phones need power and will not work without it.
  • Let Cherokee County EC know that someone in your home relies on electrically powered medical equipment.  Simply fill out the Critical Care - Medical Priority Registry for on this page and mail it to the address indicated.
  • Report all outages quickly by calling 1-800-992-4280.

If you or a family member are currently listed in the Cherokee County EC Critical Care - Medical Priority Registry and your address, phone number or life-support equipment has changed, please submit a new form with updated information.
